For upgrade works on the Brook and Burrows Lane level crossings, we installed 13 no. 600 mm diameter kingpost piles down to 6 metres in sands. Due to the tight country lane location, the site was extremely constrained. We mobilised our Klemm 709-3G rig and installed the piles in one visit, minimising manual handling while working within Network Rail’s regulations.

Despite the small space, Aureos and Global Rail were able to continue their works around our piling due to our choice of rig. Our expertise working within restricted conditions meant the works were completed using concrete mixes that enabled kingpost steels to be installed two hours after the pile was formed. Works were finished two days ahead of programme.
