As part of Aylesbury’s town centre’s ongoing regeneration and development, a new steel-framed commercial and residential building was constructed.
We designed and built a new piled raft foundation for this four-storey building. We also carried out a reduced level dig, below ground drainage and installed numerous piles at varying depths due to varying rock levels.
Our piled raft foundation provided the client with a one-stop coordinated solution to complete the ground works.
Using specialist software, we were able to model the piles and slab in unison, enabling us to create an efficient pile and raft design. By using a Klemm 709, we were able to reduce the piling mat requirements from a conventional CFA rig and reduce programme cost and carbon associated with the piling mat installation.
The entire project was delivered within the agreed programme schedule.
